80m Trimaran Superyacht

The ultimate ocean explorer.

The Shuttleworth 80M is the largest and most advanced in our range of power trimaran designs currently under development.

At 14 knots her range will be in excess of 7,500nm, and her top speed of 25 knots can be increased to 30 knots with alternative engine options. She offers unrivalled fuel efficiency for her size.

Her luxurious interior accommodates 14 guests, 18 crew and has an entire deck dedicated to the owner. As with our 70m design the wings are used for accommodation allowing us to create a living space on the main deck unrivalled on a single hulled vessel.

Award Winning Design

All our latest trimaran designs are based on the award winning naval architecture used to create the 42.5m trimaran Adastra. Unlike a monohull, the shape of the multi-hull vessels mean they require no additional stabilisation to reduce roll. The slender, shallow draught hull forms are designed to slice through waves with minimal resistance, reducing fuel consumption, improving passenger comfort and enabling faster transit in rough conditions. Using state of the art composite engineering we have achieved the light weight required for exceptional fuel efficiency and performance, as well as the strength and rigidity suitable for heavy weather ocean capability. Aerodynamics and hydrodynamics above the waterline were carefully considered as we developed the overall exterior shapes and we kept the vessels streamlined for both air and water passing over the structure. The smooth, seamless, unbroken surfaces also help to reduce weight as the outer-skin forms part of the structure to absorb torsional loads.

Adastra has now covered 14,000 miles at sea and has proven herself to be a very comfortable and exceptionally fuel efficient ocean going vessel. She can travel at 17 to 20 knots in most conditions, and has weathered 50 knot winds and seas up to 4 metres. She is incredibly stable and comfortable at rest and rolling is virtually eliminated by the outriggers.

On winning the 2013 Showboats award for naval architecture, the judges stated. "this yacht will have the best performance in the most sea states of all those presented"
